Onnet Systems Inc. SQLSequencer
Methodology for constructing batch processing solely with SQL statements.
SQL Sequencer (hereinafter referred to as SQLS) is a system that sequentially executes multiple SQL statements that have been arranged in order beforehand. Since our founding in 2000, we have consistently built core business systems, and SQLS was born out of the thought process regarding how to standardize programs that do not involve screen processing (hereinafter referred to as batch processing). The prototype was developed in 2005, and we have experienced significant results from its actual use. Since then, we have not engaged in almost any batch programming at our company. We perform processing solely by describing the execution control XML given to SQLS. We have realized through actual system construction that using SQLS allows us to build business systems very cost-effectively and reliably. The only necessary knowledge is database design skills and SQL statements. In typical programming, additional knowledge such as language knowledge, object-oriented knowledge, and standardization rules for log output are also required. In this way, SQLS allows us to start system construction with the minimum necessary knowledge, enabling participation in system development with minimal training. Furthermore, it achieves high productivity and reduces variability in quality.
